Color trends are the fashion part. They cycle, and floors don't. A floor that lasts decades is the wrong place to express a two-year palette. Put the trend in rugs, paint and furniture, where reversing costs a weekend rather than several thousand dollars.

One trend genuinely worth following: matching flooring continuously across a level rather than a different material per room. It reads as more expensive, it costs less because you buy fewer transitions at $10–$40 each, and it doesn't date.

Be skeptical of any product marketed primarily as a trend. Ask the same boring questions you'd ask of anything: what's the wear layer, what's the warranty term — vinyl plank warranties commonly run 5 to 20 years — and how does it handle water.
