How HomeMatchup researches, ranks & prices.
Every site says its rankings are independent and its content is researched. The difference is whether the rubric is published, whether you could re-score a company yourself using it, and whether anyone is named as accountable when it is wrong. All five pages below are that, including the parts that make us look worse.
How we research & write
The seven stages every page clears - commissioning, research against a ranked source hierarchy, drafting, technical review, cost review, sign-off and re-check - plus the six things we refuse to publish.

Read it MethodologyHow we review roofers
Every rating comes from a real, finished job. No fake reviews, no paid placements, no pay-to-rank. Re-checked yearly.
Read it MethodologyHow we price roofing
How our 2026 cost ranges are calculated - against government labor data, manufacturer pricing, and real market bids.
