Accepting these terms

By using HomeMatchup's website or services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use HomeMatchup. These terms are between you and HomeMatchup ("HomeMatchup", "we", "us"), based in Denver, CO.

What HomeMatchup is

HomeMatchup is a matching service across 45 home-service trades - roofing, HVAC, plumbing, foundations, accessibility, pest control and the rest. We connect homeowners with a few vetted, licensed, and insured local pros. We are not a contractor. We do not do the work, inspect anything, or run the jobs. The pros you hire are their own businesses. Any contract for work is between you and the pro you pick.

Who may use HomeMatchup

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. You must be the owner of the property, or someone the owner has authorised to get quotes for it. Requests submitted about a property you have no connection to will be removed.

Using HomeMatchup as a homeowner

HomeMatchup is free for homeowners - pros pay to be matched, and only after they pass verification. When you use HomeMatchup, you agree to:

• Give true and correct info about you and your project.
• Use the site only for real home-service needs, not to spam, scrape, or harm others.
• Do your own checking before you hire and sign any contract.

Contact consent

When you submit a quote form you tick a box authorising HomeMatchup and your matched pros to contact you - including by autodialer, prerecorded or artificial voice, and SMS/MMS text - at the number and email you gave us, even if that number is on a Do Not Call list. Consent is never required to buy anything or to receive service, the box is never pre-ticked, and you can revoke at any time by replying STOP or calling us. The exact wording, the version, and how we record it are on our Consent to Contact page.

What we do with what you submit

We pass your request to a small number of matched pros so they can quote it - not to a list, not to a lead exchange, and not to anyone who has not cleared verification. We do not sell your personal information for money. What we collect, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted are set out in our Privacy Policy and Do Not Sell or Share page.

Things you may not do

• Submit false details, someone else’s contact information, or a request for a property you have no authority over.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site, or use it to build a competing directory.
• Interfere with the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or work around any access limit.
• Use the site to send unsolicited marketing to homeowners or to pros.

Reviews and anything else you post

If you post a review or send us content, you keep ownership of it and you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish and display it in connection with the service. You are responsible for what you post being true and yours to post. We may remove content that is false, unlawful, or abusive.

No guarantee of outcomes

We work hard to match you with good pros, but we cannot promise a certain price, result, or that any job will go a certain way. The pros set their own prices and do their own work. HomeMatchup is not responsible for the work a pro does.

The HomeMatchup Promise

Some jobs may come with The HomeMatchup Promise (also called The HomeMatchup Shield), our backed-protection program. That program has its own separate program terms that explain what is covered, what is not, and how to make a claim. Those program terms control for anything related to the Promise. If there is a conflict, the program terms win for that program.

Contractors

If you are a service pro, separate terms apply to you. Pros pay HomeMatchup to be matched with homeowners, and only after passing licence, insurance, and background verification. See HomeMatchup for Pros for details.

Intellectual property

The HomeMatchup name, logo, site, text, and design belong to HomeMatchup. You may not copy, sell, or reuse them without our written okay.

Disclaimers

HomeMatchup is given "as is" and "as available." We do not make promises about the site beyond what the law requires. We do not promise the site will always be up, error-free, or fit for a certain purpose. We are not responsible for the pros, their work, or any deal you make with them.

Limit on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, HomeMatchup is not liable for any indirect, special, or extra damages from your use of the site or any job a pro does. If we are found liable for anything, our total liability will not be more than $100.

Third-party links and sites

The site links to pros, manufacturers, and other third parties. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their privacy practices, or anything you agree to with them.

Indemnity

You agree to cover HomeMatchup for claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, or content you submitted.

Ending your use

You can stop using HomeMatchup at any time and ask us to delete your information. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or uses the site to harm others. The sections that by their nature should survive - disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, governing law - survive the end of your use.

Electronic communications

You agree that we may give you notices, agreements, and records electronically, and that electronic records and signatures satisfy any requirement that they be in writing. See our E-Sign Consent.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in Colorado.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top. If you keep using HomeMatchup, you accept the new terms.

If part of these terms does not hold

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing something once does not waive it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These terms, together with the policies linked from them, are the entire agreement between you and HomeMatchup about the site.
