This Privacy Policy explains how HomeMatchup ("HomeMatchup", "we", "us") handles your information when you use our website and services. HomeMatchup is a home-services marketplace at 1600 Larimer St, Suite 200, Denver, CO 80202, covering 45 trades. We match homeowners with a few vetted, licensed, and insured local pros. HomeMatchup is free for homeowners. Pros pay us to be matched. We do not sell your information, and we do not hand it to a crowd of cold-callers.

What we collect

We collect the info you give us and some info we get when you use the site:

• Your name and contact info, like phone and email.
• Your ZIP code and home address.
• Project details - the trade, what the job is, what is wrong, and how soon you need it.
• Anything you type into the optional notes box.
• Your consent record: the exact wording and version you were shown, whether you ticked the box, the time you ticked it, the page you were on, and the IP address the submission came from.
• How you arrived - referrer, and any utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign or gclid on the link you clicked.
• Usage data, like the pages you view, your device and screen size, browser user agent, and your IP address.

We collect the consent record because a disclosure we cannot prove we showed you is worth nothing to either of us. It is the same record we would answer from if you ever asked what you agreed to.

How we use your info

We use your info to:

• Match you with a few vetted local pros in the trade you asked about.
• Reach out about your quote and answer your questions.
• Run, fix, and improve our service.
• Keep the site safe and follow the law.

Who we share it with

We share your info only when it helps you or when the law says we must:

• The few matched pros you ask us to connect you with - not a crowd.
• Service providers who help us run the site, like hosting and email. They may only use your info to do work for us.
• Legal reasons, like a court order, or to protect people from harm.

We do not sell your personal info for money. See our Do Not Sell or Share page for your opt-out choices.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the info we have, fix it, or delete it. You can also tell us to stop contacting you. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under state law. To make a request, email privacy@homematchup.com. We will not treat you unfairly for using your rights.

How long we keep it

Quote requests are held in our lead store for 90 days and then deleted automatically. Records we need for legal reasons - consent records in particular - are kept for as long as the law requires. Analytics data is held on Google’s retention schedule. Ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, except where we are required to keep it.

Analytics and advertising tools

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies and receives your IP address and page activity. We do not run advertising pixels that build profiles of you across other sites. If you arrive from an ad, the campaign identifiers on that link are stored with your request so we know which campaign it came from.

Your state privacy rights

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, or another state with a privacy law, you have the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to opt out of sale or sharing and of targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any right, email privacy@homematchup.com or use our Do Not Sell or Share page. We will verify the request against the information we already hold, answer within the time the law allows, and never charge you or degrade your service for asking. If we refuse, you may appeal by replying to our decision.

Where your information is held

The site and lead store run on Cloudflare’s network. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar tools to remember your settings, see how the site is used, and make it better. You can turn off cookies in your browser, but some parts of the site may not work as well.

Security

We use reasonable steps to protect your info. No method online is 100% safe, so we cannot promise perfect security. Please keep your own login and details safe too.

Children

HomeMatchup is for adults. Our service is not meant for anyone under 18, we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we do not sell the personal information of anyone under 16. If you think a child gave us information, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top. Please check back now and then.
