Full services directory How it worksFor prosAbout Get matched Call (866) 582-8523Compare cabinet brands on construction and certification, not on marketing tier names. The one objective, checkable signal is KCMA/ANSI A161.1 certification, which tests shelves loaded for seven days, wall cabinets loaded to 600 pounds, 25,000 door and drawer cycles, and finish resistance to heat, cold, and spills. Price tier tells you more than brand prestige does.
We will not rank brands or repeat warranty terms we have not verified, because those terms change and vary by product line. What we can tell you is what to ask. Every brand sells multiple lines at different quality levels, and a premium brand's entry line and a value brand's top line often come off similar equipment.
The questions that separate lines: What is the box made of? How are drawers joined, and are the slides full-extension and soft-close? Are the doors solid wood, veneer, or thermofoil? Is the interior finished? And is the line KCMA/ANSI A161.1 certified? That last one has a yes-or-no answer the manufacturer can confirm.
Price tier is the most honest signal available. Fixr's per-linear-foot bands — $100–$300 stock, $150–$650 semi-custom, $500–$1,200 custom — reflect real differences in materials, tolerances, and finishing. A brand claiming custom quality at stock pricing is doing one of those things differently than they say.
Where you buy also changes the experience as much as which brand you buy. A big-box order gets you a national supply chain and a call center; a local dealer gets you someone who will drive over when a door arrives damaged. Both are legitimate. Know which trade you are making before something goes wrong.
That is worth something only while you are still choosing. Tell us what is going on and we will match you with a few kitchen remodeling pros whose licence and insurance we have already checked — free, no obligation.
