Measure countertops in square feet including the island, and add the depth of any overhang for seating. At $15–$200 per square foot depending on material, per Fixr, a bad estimate here moves thousands. Fabricators will template precisely later; you only need the rough number to compare bids.

For a whole-project gut check, multiply your floor area by the per-square-foot ranges: about $150 per square foot on average, $75–$250 typical, and up to about $600 for luxury work. If a bid is far outside that band, ask what is in it that other bids do not have.

One caution: online cost calculators are marketing tools for the sites that host them, including lead-generation forms. Use the number, ignore the urgency, and never treat a calculator output as a price you can hold anyone to.
