A question that a roofing guide answers well and a siding guide does not mention is invisible from inside either page, and obvious the moment you line the two up.

Most of his week is spent on coverage rather than ranking. He maps the real questions in a trade - the ones with a decision behind them, not the ones with volume behind them - against what the site has actually published, and hands the gaps to the writers. The output is usually a shorter list than people expect, because a topic already covered honestly does not need a second page competing with the first.

He also checks how these pages survive being quoted. Answer engines lift a paragraph out of its page and show it alone, which punishes any answer that only makes sense with the three paragraphs above it - so he reads for whether a passage still stands up once it has been taken away from everything around it.
