Full services directory How it worksFor prosAbout Get matched Call (866) 582-8523Plain broom-finished concrete flatwork generally runs about $5 to $8 per square foot installed, with decorative work climbing well past that: Concrete Network puts stamped concrete at $10 to $14 per square foot for a single pattern and color, $14 to $20 for mid-range designs with borders and multiple colors, and $20+ for high-end hand-colored work. A full concrete driveway typically totals $3,200 to $13,000 depending on size, finish and site work.
Two quotes for the "same" patio can differ by thousands and both be honest. The variables are thickness, base depth, mix strength, reinforcement, how much excavation and haul-away is involved, access for a truck, and how decorative the finish is. Concrete Network's driveway tiers run plain at $5 to $8 per square foot, basic at $8 to $14, mid-range at $14 to $21, and high-end at $21 and up. Patio tiers land similarly: plain $5 to $8, simple $8 to $11, custom $11 to $18, elaborate $18+.
Size math matters more than people expect. Concrete Network puts the average U.S. two-car driveway at 16 by 40 feet — 640 square feet. At the plain tier that's a few thousand dollars; at the high-end stamped tier the same footprint crosses $12,800. Decide finish before you compare bids, or you are comparing nothing.
Watch the add-ons. Tearing out an existing driveway runs about $1.00 per square foot. Resurfacing an existing slab is $3 to $10 per square foot. Professional sealing is $1 to $2 per square foot, and pressure washing averages $175 to $300. Snow-melt systems are $10 to $15 per square foot on top of everything else.
A cheap bid is usually cheap somewhere specific: thinner slab, less base, no air entrainment, fewer joints, or no real curing. Ask the low bidder which of those they cut. If the answer is "none, we're just more efficient," get the mix design and thickness in writing.
