How irrigation valve repair actually works

  1. Prove the fault is valve-side, not controller-side

    Manual operation at the valve, then activation with a known-good output or jumper logic, separates a dead station board from a field problem. This step prevents unnecessary controller replacement. Verify the zone starts and stops cleanly through a full controller cycle after reassembly.

  2. Test the solenoid and field wiring

    Solenoid resistance and voltage at the valve under command show whether the coil is open, shorted or simply not receiving signal.   3. Open the valve and service the diaphragm path
