The door gasket is the single component that decides whether your tub is a good purchase or a recurring problem. Repair services report leaks trace to gaskets that flatten, crack or stiffen, debris on the seal, and doors misaligned from improper leveling. Cleaning the seal and frame after each use costs nothing and prevents most of that.

Harsh and abrasive cleaners are the documented enemy of the seal. Get the manufacturer's approved product list at handover and stick to it. This also matters for warranty coverage — using unapproved products can be excluded.

Check monthly for moisture on the floor at the door side and, if you can access it, underneath. A slow door leak that soaks the subfloor for months is far more expensive than a $30 gasket.
