Full services directory How it worksFor prosAbout Get matched Call (866) 582-8523A hot tub purchase involves up to five separate services: delivery and placement ($250–$400, plus about $200 for a crane), foundation work (around $1,600, or $5–$25 per square foot of concrete), licensed electrical hookup ($120–$200 for a 220V outlet, electricians at $40–$100 per hour), professional setup ($200–$800), and ongoing water care ($50–$300 a month). Only some of these come from your dealer.
Find out early which of these the dealer actually performs and which they hand off. Many dealers deliver and set the tub but do not pour the pad or do the electrical, and the gap between 'we deliver' and 'you can use it' is where homeowners get stuck with a tub sitting on the grass.
The electrical is not optional and not DIY. Hot tub circuits are specifically regulated, and the requirements are enforced by your local jurisdiction through inspection. Hire a licensed electrician, verify the license with your state board, and make sure the work is inspected. An unsafe spa circuit is a genuine electrocution hazard, not a paperwork issue.
Repair service is a separate relationship worth establishing before you need it. Ask the dealer who services the brand in your area, and whether that is their own technicians or a third party. A tub whose nearest authorized technician is three hours away is a different ownership experience than the spec sheet suggests.
Hot tub moving is its own specialty. Tubs are heavy, awkward, and easy to crack on a corner. If you are relocating one, use a company that moves spas specifically and confirm they carry insurance covering damage to the tub itself, not just your property.
That is worth something only while you are still choosing. Tell us what is going on and we will match you with a few hot tubs & spas pros whose licence and insurance we have already checked — free, no obligation.
