Solar, a bill you control

It usually starts with a power bill that keeps climbing no matter what you switch off. The hard part is not the work - it is that every solar company sounds equally sure of itself, and you get one guess. We check licence and insurance before we introduce anyone, and we record the date we checked.

Solar in short

Solar companies handle site assessment and system design, permitting with your local building department, physical installation, the utility interconnection application, commissioning, and ongoing monitoring. Separate specialists handle repairs, inverter replacement, and panel removal-and-reinstall when a roof needs work.

In 2026 a home solar system averages about $2.60 per watt before incentives, and the average system quoted through EnergySage is roughly 12 kW at $31,135, with most quotes landing between $27,526 and $33,869 (EnergySage, 2026). The 30% federal residential tax credit is gone for systems you buy, so compare quotes on the cash price, not on a credit-adjusted number.

What we promise, and what we do not

How a pro gets in front of you

Most sites sell your number to whoever pays the most for it. We do not - your details reach only the solar companies matched to your job. We are building licence and insurance checks on top of that, and we will publish each one with the date it was performed rather than claim it in advance.

A few pros, never a list

Your details go to the small number of local companies matched to your job, and to nobody else. They are not sold on.

No paid placement

A company cannot buy a better position in a match or in our rankings. Where we rank, the method is published so you can re-score it yourself.

Check the licence yourself

Ask for the number and look it up on your state board’s public register. We are building this into the match; it is not running yet.

Ask the insurer, not the contractor

Get liability and workers’ compensation certificates sent to you by the insurance agency direct. A forwarded PDF proves nothing about today.

What we check, and what we do not check yet

No verified solar price ranges published yet.
We don’t publish a cost until we can show the data behind it. If you need a number today, the quote form gives you real prices from local companies.

Zero reviews. On purpose.

We’d rather show you nothing than show you someone else’s reviews.

Plenty of sites fill this space with reviews scraped from elsewhere, or written for them. We don’t. The first solar review on this page will come from a homeowner we matched, after their work was finished and paid for.

Solar questions, answered

The questions homeowners ask us most about solar.

EnergySage’s 2026 marketplace data averages about $2.60 per watt before incentives, with a typical quoted system around 12 kW at $31,135 and most quotes roughly $27,526-$33,869. Divide total price by system watts to compare companies. Door-to-door quotes can run higher for similar hardware because of sales overhead.
Not for systems you buy. The IRS states the Section 25D Residential Clean Energy Credit is not allowed for expenditures made after December 31, 2025, and treats an expenditure as made when installation is completed. A third party that owns a leased system may still claim a commercial credit - but you do not claim 30% on your personal return for a purchased 2026 install.
EnergySage reports an average payback of about 10 years across its marketplace, with 25-year savings estimates spanning roughly $41,000 to $155,000 - an enormous spread driven by your utility rates and export rules, not panel brand. Cheap electricity or weak export credit can mean payback never arrives.
EnergySage’s 2026 quote data averages about $1,128 per kWh installed, putting a 13.5 kWh battery near $15,228 before state or local incentives. A battery rarely pays for itself on bill savings alone - buy for backup or a rate structure that truly rewards storage.
Sales channel overhead, roof complexity, electrical upgrades, battery bundling, or a dealer fee baked into a financed price. Normalize to $/W cash price for solar-only scope. If one bid is $2.60/W and another is $4.20/W for similar equipment, the gap is often commission, not quality.

The wrong solar hire costs more than the right one.

Solar is a 25-year financial commitment sold in a single evening. The panels rarely disappoint. The contract, the roof condition and the production estimate do. Getting matched takes about a minute, costs nothing, and you can walk away from every quote you receive.
